Haikus are our only hope

As the centuries have gone by, humans have lost touch with our natural selves. Don’t believe me? Just think; when was the last time you ate dirt, or rolled around in dirt? Or put dirt in your pants? A long time. Because of this lost connection with something as simple as dirt, we have all lost touch with nature; this primal force that moved us seems to be thrown aside in our day to day.

BUT NO MORE! I have spent some time with the dirt and have been divinely inspired. I will be expressing my newfound wisdom through my poetic talents. Through this collection of haiku, I’d like to attempt to reconnect with our primitive roots, in the hopes of finding deeper meaning and understanding of this world we take advantage of every day.

I call this one… The Trees

Trees are kinda weird.

I mean think about it dude

So tall, so green. Nice.

Thank you. See, what I did was, I looked at the trees and thought to myself, “Huh, that’s kinda weird.” I hope that I conveyed that to you in my moving haiku. This one is about salad…

Grass is Green. Salad?

Also, Green. But don’t put no

Grass in salad, YUCK!

I really think this one connects to nature, and how things are Green.

This one is about how to recycle…

Garbage ev’rywhere,

Wrappers, plastic straws, people,

All belong in trash

The subtle thing I did here, which you may not have caught was that I called humans trash, thus suggesting we be thrown out. Genius.

This one, it’s a little more complex, so hold onto your hats…

Grass, Grass, Leaves, Leaves, Leaves.

Pollution? Nuh uh, go a-

Way. More Grass, more Leaves.

This one is a bit hard to decipher. I was simply sitting amongst trees and was hit with a moment of divine inspiration. I don’t expect many people to get it.

And the final one… we’re bringing it back to ~Dirt~

Dirt, Dirt, Dirt, Dirt, dirt.

I roll in it and eat it.

I love dirt and worms.

I hope that these haiku will make you stop and think for once in your life that maybe after reading them you’ll go roll in some dirt, eat some worms, eat some leaves, eat the pollution, and solve world hunger. Thank you all for coming out, Carpe Diem.
