Candidate statement:
Planning events is a huge part of campus life. It helps us engage Vic students through fun activities and allows a tight community to prosper. Having said this, it is important that we always keep the environment in mind when planning any events, or non-events. For example, the dining hall right now consumes an incredible amount of plastic that can be avoided, such as plastic glasses for beverages and bags to keep our food items in. We need to figure out ways to incentivise students to bring their own reusable bags and convince the dining hall to start using paper cups instead of plastic ones.
