solitude among giants
how it feels
to know that i inhale their exhalations
and that they do the same
that as we both respirate
we are conspiring
connecting anthropic and organic crest
it’s a strange home
a mystical divide
roots to canopy
separating landscapes of
urban and rural
the planes of my mind
finally at rest
every moment under trees,
every breath,
precious
although infinitesimal.
smaller still to these creatures
rooted to this earth
from them i am blessed
