On February 1st, the “Safe Access to Abortion Services Act” came into effect in Ontario. The act establishes “safe access zones” surrounding abortion clinics, to protect the safety of those seeking services as well as their health care providers.

On December 29th 2017, Ammara Wasim was appointed as UTSU’s new VP Campus Life. Her appointment comes after former VP Stuart Norton’s resignation on December 31st due to personal reasons.
