During my time at Victoria, whether as a content editor for Hey Production Magazines or a committed student of Victoria College, I experienced first-hand how important collective strategies are to success, and the fruits they bear. If elected as Academic Commissioner, I will ensure that the Victoria academic experience is second to none!
What goals do you hope to accomplish if you are elected to this position?
My priorities are to assist the Vice President in designing academic strategies, helping students who need assistance handling uncertainty when it comes to exams. Help students tell them what to do and not what to do and learn from my mistakes in the end. In addition, help students understand the professional world, explain the importance of networking and teach them how to network. Altogether, allow students to be academically better versions of themselves compared to before.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Within our hearts Victoria holds a special place. I was immediately struck by its elegance, its wonderful resources and its peoples arriving this year. More than a mere formality, this culture became a source of knowledge, of companionship, of home. Yet much more can be done, even with its many opportunities and resources, to make this wonderful community even greater. The chances will double when elected. When I came first year, I wanted to meet fellow peers in my academic field and learn where they’ve come from, and ultimately network. But there weren’t many issues and I will change that.
